MEXC Rewards: What the Headline Number Contains (2026)
MEXC publishes the breakdown behind its welcome rewards. Reading it is more useful than any headline figure, and it explains why most people receive a fraction of what they expected.

Risk Warning: Cryptocurrency trading involves significant risk. Prices can fluctuate rapidly and you may lose your investment. This content is for informational purposes only and should not be considered financial advice.
Regulatory position: eight regulators, among them the UK FCA, Japan's FSA and BaFin, have published warnings about MEXC, and the Seychelles regulator has said it cannot help users recover funds. Every source, linked.
Search for MEXC rewards and you will be told about ten thousand dollars. That number does not come from MEXC. It comes from pages like this one, written by affiliates, and the figures escalate because nobody loses anything by raising them.
MEXC does publish its own breakdown, and it is a far more useful document than any of the summaries of it. Here is what is in it.
The advertised total, and the task that actually applies to you
MEXC new user welcome gifts, advertised total
Up to 8,000 USDT
Announced 5 October 2024. A ceiling reached only by stacking every task, including futures volume in the millions. Campaigns change without notice.
MEXC's own announcement — checked August 29, 2026The sign-up task itself, in the same announcement
20 USDT
A voucher, not cash. This is the part that does not depend on depositing or trading.
MEXC's own announcement — checked August 29, 2026Both numbers are from the same MEXC announcement. The first is the sum of every task in the programme added together. The second is the sign-up task on its own, which is the only part that does not depend on depositing or trading.
The rest of the announcement is a task list, and the tasks are tiered by size. Depositing 100 USDT is attached to a 60 USDT position airdrop. Downloading the app is a 10 USDT voucher. Beyond that, the deposit tasks run from 500 USDT to 50,000 USDT and the futures volume tasks run from 5,000 USDT to 30 million USDT, with the largest single bonus in the list at 6,500 USDT. One leverage task requires more than 300,000 USDT of volume at 21x or higher.
That is where the headline comes from. It is not a lie and it is not a bonus either: it is the top of a ladder whose upper rungs require trading volumes that almost no new user will reach. If you deposit a few hundred dollars and trade normally, the realistic outcome is the sign-up voucher, the app voucher and possibly the deposit airdrop.
One caveat I want to be explicit about: that announcement is dated 5 October 2024. MEXC changes campaigns without notice and reward criteria vary by country. Treat the structure as instructive and check the current campaign in your own account rather than trusting the amounts here.
The way most people lose a reward they earned
How long a voucher or futures bonus stays valid
15 days
Unused vouchers expire. This is the most common way people lose a reward they did qualify for.
MEXC's own announcement — checked August 29, 2026Vouchers and futures bonuses expire. MEXC's announcement puts the validity at 15 days[src]. A voucher is not money in your account; it is a credit against fees, and if you do not trade within the window it is simply gone.
This is worth more attention than the headline number. Qualifying for a reward and receiving the benefit are two different events, and the gap between them is a fortnight. If you claim something, note the date.
The 50% fee discount that no longer exists
If you read anything about reducing fees on MEXC you will find the same advice: hold MX and get 50% off. It is on comparison sites, on Reddit, in videos, and it is in MEXC's own older support articles.
It is not live. On 4 February 2026 MEXC published Updates to the MX Fee Discount Structure, stating that from 9 February 2026 at 08:00 UTC the MX Holder Discount, which gave holders of 500 MX or more a 50% trading fee reduction, is temporarily suspended. The stated reason is to move the incentive from passive holding towards active use of the token. The resumption date, in MEXC's words, will be announced separately.
I checked for a resumption announcement while writing this and found none. As of the date at the top of this page it has been suspended for more than six months.
Here is the part that explains why the claim will not die. MEXC's original announcement of that discount is still published, dated January 2024, with no suspension notice on it. It also states a different threshold, 1,000 MX held for 15 consecutive days, against the 500 MX in the suspension notice. Two live pages on the same exchange disagree with each other, and the more flattering one is the one that ranks. If you see the 50% figure repeated anywhere, that is where it is coming from.
The fee reduction that does exist, and how to switch it on
Discount for paying trading fees with MX
20%
Opt-in, not automatic — you switch it on yourself. The separate 50% MX Holder Discount was suspended in February 2026 and is no longer available, whatever older pages say.
MEXC announcement, February 2026 — checked August 23, 2026MEXC spot taker fee with MX deduction switched on
0.04%
MEXC's own worked example: the 20% deduction applied to a 0.05% taker fee.
MEXC's guide to MX fee discounts — checked August 23, 2026MX Deduction is separate from the suspended holder discount and it is still running. It takes 20%[src] off eligible spot and USDT-M futures fees when you pay those fees with MX. On the spot taker side that moves 0.05%[src] to 0.04%[src]. On futures, MEXC publishes maker moving from 0.01% to 0.008% and taker from 0.04% to 0.032%.
It is opt-in. This matters, because the marketing language around bonus codes frequently implies a discount arrives automatically. It does not. Nothing you enter at registration switches this on.
- Hold some MX. The fee is paid in MX, so an empty MX balance means the deduction silently does not apply and you pay the normal rate.
- Spot, on the web: open the fee page in your account and toggle MX deduction on. In the app it is under the profile icon, then Fee Settings, then the "Deduct using MX 20% Off" toggle.
- Futures is separate. MX has to be transferred into your Futures account. Enabling it for spot does not enable it for futures.
- Sub-accounts do not inherit it. MEXC states that sub-accounts and main accounts keep independent benefits which cannot be shared.
When I looked at my own fee page, every pair carried a "20% MX Discount" label and the page said "No MX Discount Applied" with the switch off. That is the default state. The full fee picture, including the pairs that cost nothing at all, is in the trading fees guide.
One thing to get right at registration
The code goes in the row labelled "Referral Code (Optional)", under the email box. I checked the live form on 29 August 2026 and two details are worth carrying with you.
The input's own placeholder reads "Enter invitation code (case-sensitive)". Capitals are part of the string, so FAIRTRADE and fairtrade are not the same thing to that field.
And arriving through a referral link pre-fills the box for you. That is convenient, and it is also the easiest kind of field to scroll straight past. Read what is in it before you press Continue. If you get all the way through without a code, you are not stuck: MEXC allows binding one for 30 days after registration, which is covered in the referral code guide.
Staying out of trouble
Reward campaigns attract impersonation, and the pattern is consistent enough to be worth stating plainly.
- Bookmark the real domain. Everything happens on mexc.com. Copies of the interface on lookalike domains are the standard vehicle, and they are convincing because copying a website is easy.
- No genuine campaign needs your keys. Nothing MEXC runs requires a seed phrase, a private key or an API secret to pay you a voucher. A request for any of those ends the conversation.
- Claim from inside your own account. If a reward exists it is visible when you log in yourself. Arriving via a link someone sent you removes the only check you had.
- Turn on two-factor authentication before you have a balance worth taking, not after.
Before any of this
None of the above says anything about whether keeping money on this exchange is wise. Eight regulators have published warnings about MEXC, and the Seychelles regulator has stated it cannot help users recover funds. A voucher is a small reason to move money somewhere; that is a large one to read first.
Try MEXC with code FAIRTRADE
Enter code FAIRTRADE during MEXC registration to access available promotions. Rewards depend on MEXC's current terms.
